CSEP Approved is the international education standard designed to support the CSEP designation (Certified Special Events Professional) in terms of continuing education as well as all live events seeking relevant event industry specific professional development. The program is managed by the International Live Events Association (lLEA).
All educational offerings, content and resources displaying the CSEP Approved logo aligns with the body of knowledge found in the CSEP Exam Blueprint and meets the high standards of CSEP as the trusted designation for live events professionals as vetted by the CSEP Education Committee.
Any single or collection of in-person or virtual classes, sessions, workshops, masterclasses, courses, programs, certificate programs or complete educational delivery systems can apply to be considered for CSEP Approved status. Content and resources including, but not limited to, reference materials, books, articles, and white papers can also be submitted for CSEP Approved.
At least three members of the CSEP Education Committee will review all applications and determine approval status based on an evaluation system that has been established by the Committee. Requests for approval review will happen within 45 days of submission. Once approved, you may use the CSEP Approved status on the approved educational product for a period of three (3) years. At the conclusion of three years, content will be required to be reviewed again to determine relevancy to the current CSEP Exam Blueprint.
Definition of CSEP Approved Continuing Education
Achieving and maintaining the CSEP designation is an ongoing process of continuing education and professional development that:
- Ensures CSEPs have and maintain a well-rounded and comprehensive understanding of live event elements and can speak to these elements with knowledge, understanding and critical thinking.
- Enables CSEPs to keep pace with the most current live event trends, best practices, and skills development required in the ever-evolving live events industry.
- Allows CSEP candidates to build a comprehensive understanding of the core competencies across the live events industry and CSEP Exam Blueprint.
- Allows certified CSEPs to maintain, develop, and increase their competencies to improve outcomes of their services as event professionals in live events and enhance their contributions to the live events industry overall.
Definition of a CSEP Approved Provider or Resource
Approved CSEP Approved providers or resources are entities or products providing education and training in the core competencies identified by the six competency domains as outlined by the CSEP Exam Blueprint.
The CSEP Approved application requires:
- Description of the product along with an explanation of the relevancy to the CSEP Exam Blueprint.
- Learning objectives of the product.
- Samples and/or access to the product for review, including temporary log-ins if necessary.
- Complete information about where and how to purchase/gain access to the product in the marketplace (i.e.—where can students get the course, book, etc.?)
